Continual research into plastic pollution identifies the effect is further afield than originally thought. Coastal plants are threatened where metre-deep piles of plastic accumulate, and more recently scientists have identified the effect on plants and animals inland.

In this painting, there are no actual found objects but castings in paint of found single use plastics. The floppy, fragile petals of the evening primrose have been represented by casting a plastic bag. the effect is similar to the petal although fragile it is not! Plastic can last for 600 years…and maybe longer.
